September 19, 2014: Bebe Buell & the Nashville Aces Single Release Party

News 1On Friday September 19th, Manuel American Designs will be welcoming Bebe Buell and her Nashville Aces to the 800 Broadway stage in downtown Nashville!The party will celebrate the release of their first two singles, “Hello Music City” and “Secret Sister.”

This event is from 6-9pm, is open to the public and there will be no cover charge. Food will be provided by M Street and drinks will be provided by Eddy’s Vodka. The first 50 guests will receive a copy of “Hello Music City” and “Secret Sister.”

September 5th-October 9th: 21 Collaborative Art Project featuring a Dress Designed by Manuel and JessicaNews 2

During summer 2014, Manuel welcomed aspiring designer Jessica in to his cutting room to help design a one-of-a-kind dress to be featured in the “21 Collaborative Art Project” exhibition at the Bennett Galleries in Nashville, TN. Over the summer, the Pujols Family Foundation asked Manuel and 20 other Nashville artists to partner with individuals with Down syndrome to create a work of art together based on the theme 21.

Manuel and Jessica created a one-of-a-kind gold dress with butterfly inspired imagery. This dress was debuted at the Bennett Galleries on September 5th, and will be on display until October 9th when it will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Pujols Family Foundation. June 5th & 6th: Manuel Kick’s Off CMA FanFest 2014 with Live Musicat 800 Broadway

News 3Every June, the Country Music Association kicks off summer with their annual CMA FanFest. This year, Manuel American Designs invited local singer/songwriters to 800 Broadway to perform during FanFest. Musicians included members of the Robertson family (Duck Dynasty), Morgan Riley, Eric Lee Beddingfield, Sonia Leigh, and many more.

May 8, 2014: “Music Loves Fashion” Artist Showcase and Trunk Show featuring Paco Despacio

Every 2nd Thursday, Manuel opens his showroom to the public with his monthly “Music Loves Fashion” Artist Showcase presented by Bright Star International. The artist featured in May was long time button maker and friend Paco Despacio. Guests were also treated to performances by Keeli, Sutton Sorrenson & Sam Hawksley, and The Eskimo Brothers. Proceeds from this month’s showcase benefitted Save the Music America.

April 2014: Manuel Partners with the Catholic Charities of Tennessee

In April 2014, Manuel teamed up with Catholic Charities of Tennessee to present you with one-of-a-kind accessories designed by Manuel and made by the ladies’ of Refuge Handicrafts. Refuge Handicrafts is a project of the Catholic Charities of Tennessee working with resettled refugee women to help promote self-sufficiency through self-employment.

Refugee women face unique barriers to working outside the home. In order for the women to overcome these challenges, Catholic Charities of TN works with them to use the many talents and skills they possess. Through financial literacy classes, English language classes, and business development and management training, these women gain the knowledge to help them in starting their own small business. Catholic Charities of Tennessee in partnership with Manuel American Designs help these extraordinary women in the development of their merchandise.

April 23, 2014: Manuel Celebrates His 81st Birthday!

On Wednesday, April 23, 2014, Manuel American Designs celebrated 81 years of Manuel at The Standard Nashville. Long time friends, The Mavericks headlined the event with signature Manuel Martini’s provided by Heroes Vodka. Carolina Story, Kristen Kelly, Stephanie Urbina Jones, and Frank Ortega also helped celebrate Manuel’s 81st birthday.

April 10, 2014: “Music Loves Fashion” Artist Showcase featuring Pete Kennedy

Every 2nd Thursday, Manuel opens his showroom to the public with his monthly “Music Loves Fashion” Artist Showcase presented by Bright Star International. The artist featured in April was Pete Kennedy, an incredible singer/songwriter who recently moved to Nashville from Ireland.  VRadio Nashville was also on hand broadcasting live from the 800 Broadway showroom. Proceeds from this month’s showcase benefitted Special Olympics of Tennessee.

April 6, 2014: Frankie Ballard and Jon Pardi Wear Custom Manuel American Designs on the ACM Red Carpet

Jon Pardi & Frankie Ballard wear custom Manuel at the 2014 ACM Awards

Sunday, April 6, 2014 featured a battle of the rhinestones on the Academy of Country Music Awards red carpet. Up-and-coming country musicians Jon Pardi and Frankie Ballard both wore custom Manuel creations to the 49th Academy of Country Music Awards.

Jon Pardi wore a white jacket that showcased black and silver feather Manuel embroidery while Frankie Ballard wore a custom royal blue suit featuring Native American themed embroidery. Frankie’s blue suit was made in honor of his first number one single, “Helluva Life.”

April 3, 2014: Manuel Hosts His First Annual “Top Picks of Fashion”

On Thursday, April 3, 2014, Manuel hosted his first annual “Manuel’s Top Picks of Fashion” in honor of Nashville Fashion Week. Manuel invited five local designers who he felt displayed impeccable talent, style, and an influence in the Nashville Fashion Scene. Designers included Betty Malo for Betty Badd Couture, Carlos Bonola for Bonola CoutureEric AdlerJohnathan Kayne, andNina D. Designs.

Each designer featured three of their signature looks and was awarded with a plaque commemorating their achievement. A portion of the proceeds benefited the Nashville Fashion Fund.

Manuel’s Final Fashion Show at 1922 Broadway is featured on TNT’s “Private Lives of Nashville Wives”

On Monday, March 24, 2014 Manuel’s Final Fashion Show at 1922 Broadway was featured on an episode of TNT’s “Private Lives of Nashville Wives.” Manuel asked long time friend and client Betty Malo to showcase her Betty Badd Couture jewelry line during this historic fashion show.

March 20, 2014: “Music Loves Fashion” Artist Showcase featuring 100 Miles Gone

Every 2nd Thursday, Manuel opens his showroom to the public with his monthly “Music Loves Fashion” Artist Showcase presented by Bright Star International. The artist featured in March was 100 Miles Gone, a duo based out of Texas.  VRadio Nashville was also on hand broadcasting live from the 800 Broadway showroom. Proceeds from this month’s showcase benefitted Special Olympics of Tennessee.

March 18, 2014: Manuel is announced as one of 2014’s Father of the Year Honorees!

On March 18, 2014, Manuel was announced as a Father of the Year Honoree for 2014. Other Honorees include Walter Clair, M.D., M.P.H., William H. Freeman, Dr. Randy Lowry, & J.R. Roper.

The Father of the Year Awards Ceremony will take place June 5, 2014 at the Omni Hotel Nashville with proceeds benefitting the American Diabetes Association. February 28, 2014: Manuel American Designs Welcomes ET Burk to the Neighborhood!

On February 28, 2014, ET Burk (a design gallery specializing in mid-century and modern furnishings) opened next door to Manuel American Designs at 808 Broadway.
